About The Artists
Mr. George Nelson is a lifetime resident of Rockford, Illinois, who spent 29 years honing his techniques as a craftsman in the steel industry. Mr Nelson, an extremely talented woodworker, is also an avid outdoors man, known for his tremendous skills, both as a trap shooter and Muskie fisherman.
Krazygrain Designs is the brainchild of professional photographer, Atwood Forten Kip Jacobs, and former steel worker George Eugene Nelson. In 2006, Mr. Jacobs and Mr. Nelson began creating an elegant collection of “Funktional Art” pieces that are designed to be used as well as aesthetically appreciated.
In addition to being an accomplished photographer and talented wood designer, Mr. Jacobs is a fifth generation descendant of Mr. James Forten (1766 - 1842), a noted black leader, abolitionist and inventor from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
